Prof. Dr. Zeynep Gül ÜNAL was elected as a board membership for the second time as a result of the election held at the 20th ICOMOS International General Assembly dated December 3, 2020.* Thus, since its establishment in 1965, Turkey will be represented for the second time ICOMOS International Management Board.
ICOMOS, with 10,546 personal and 271 corporate members in 151 countries, conducts its activities through national committees and 28 international scientific committees. ICOMOS, established in 1965 as an international and non-governmental organization, is the official advisory unit of UNESCO on the protection of tangible and intangible cultural properties.
Prof. Dr. Zeynep Gül Ünal, who also continues to serve as the International Vice President of ICOMOS ICORP (Scientific Committee on Risk Preparedness), will continue to shoot a documentary on the protection of cultural properties in conflict and disaster situations within the scope of the “ICORP On the Road Project” carried out in partnership with ICOMOS, ICORP and YTU TA-MİR in addition to her management duties. The documentary shootings made in Nepal, Turkey, Mali, Pakistan, Brazil, India and the story of the project are also published by Google Art and Culture **.
